If you’ve never had tzatziki, you have been missing out big time. It is probably the best dip known to man. Tzatziki is made of yogurt, cucumber, lemon, and garlic. It tastes best when smothered over a gyro or some crispy french fries. Or you can just dip pita in it. You can’t really go wrong here, people. It’s also a super healthy option to any mayo type dishes, due to the yogurt!
All you need is 1 cup of whole milk plain yogurt, 1/4 cup of chopped cucumber, 3 cloves of garlic, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of agave nectar, and salt and pepper. Some people add dill, but I don’t really like dill, so I did not add dill.
Start by chopping up the cucumber really finely. I used an English cucumber. They have a delicate peel so you don’t have to peel them!
Add the chopped cucumber to a bowl and then squeeze in the lemon juice.
I used a microplane to get the garlic as finely minced as possible to make the sauce as garlicky as possible. Love me some garlic.
Add in the salt and agave nectar.
Now pour in the yogurt and stir to combine.
Finito! A beautiful sauce ready to be destroyed with some fronch fries!
