St. Vincent…why were you so good? You made me laugh and you made me cry. I haven’t laughed that hard or cried that hard in a movie, in a long time. Could be that my over exhaustion from preparing for conferences sent me into an easy to crack up delirium, or it could be that it is just that good. I think it’s the later. This film was superb and is something I could watch over and over again.
Although Mr. Murray plays the crumudginy type character we are used to seeing, he brings this one to the next level, going beyond the low character morals of his Groundhog Day and Scrooged characters of past. He is able to prove again that no matter how hard the exterior, our interior is all mush and we just want to be loved and to care for others. Plus Melissa McCarthy is in it and she is hilarious. And the little kid is freaking adorable and genuine and insightful. I’m done preaching. It was super good.
